The 40 teams are in five (5) groups, based on a WCF ranking established over the last 3 years. Each group plays a round robin. At the end of the round robins there will be a ranking for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th position in each group. The top three teams qualify directly for the 1/8 finals, as well as the 4th ranked team with the best DSC results.
